The underground managed to establish contact with a group of Belarusian partisans and the first group of partisans left the ghetto for the Naliboki forest. Later, thousands more Jews: children, women and men from the ghetto left for the forest. Family camps and four fighting bases were established in the forest. The partisans managed to maintain contact with the people of the ghetto.
